The Green Stone and The Black Alchemist introduced me to the concept of Psychic Questing in the eighties and I was enthralled.

Does anyone do this kind of stuff anymore?

On impulse I connected to my Energy Store House Entity to boost the supply of energy and visualised each seed in turn glowing with life.

As I did so I mused about creating a servitor to aid this overall process – a kind of “Plant Personal Assistant”…

As I pondered over this later on in the day all kinds of issues surfaced.

Would this create an unnecessary complication in the process ie. like adding in a new layer of management in a company?

And in doing so would I be interfering with the working relationship (such as it is) between me and whatever nature spirits are involved with the growing process both specific to the seed/plant and to the locality?

Would it be simpler just to tap more meaningfully into the nature spirits as mentioned above?

Was I making things more complicated than they need to be?

Countering these anxieties is the notion that anything that connects me more strongly to the land and growing things – whatever that may be – can only be a good thing.  If it serves to direct my thoughts (and therefore energy) more strongly to the agencies that bring growth then that can only be good – can’t it?

I have been very pleased to see that copies of this exceptional book are now becoming available again.

When I searched for it a year or so ago I was dismayed to find it was virtually impossible to source and those that were available were going for silly money.

A compelling blend of novel and factual material it offers unique insights into a wide variety of magical practices, with substantial references to Aleister Crowley (including his raising of a demon in the North African desert in 1909, Dr Dee, Order of the Golden Dawn, Austin Osman Spare, Gerald Gardner, the OTO, Wicca and, most noteably, sex magic/tantric rites as practiced by “secret orders”.

I have a copy which I have read many times and as I (hopefully) progress in The Work I gain fresh insights into what it contains every time I open its cover.

I can’t recommend this book highly enough.

And who the heck is/was Eric Ericson?   He writes with authority and the story is a damn good read too!

For instance last night I gave my wife who is recovering from two operations related to breast cancer  some hands on Reiki healing.  The application of this energy was guided further by my longest serving spirit, Healing Helper,  who was given extra energy by my Energy Store House Entity which had spent all day harvesting sunlight at my direction.

Earlier in the day my parking space in the street continued to be guarded by the servitor Myspace! whilst I nipped out in the car.  Similarly, my vegetable plot on the allotment is guarded by my trusty troll servitor.  Both entities get energy from the ESHE at my direction which I regard as a great bonding experience for all concerned!

And whilst I took coffee in a crowded coffeeshop in the village my aura was guarded by a servitor designed to gobble up any entities that might jump me in the crowded place.

Servitors are only one way I work with magic.  Creating such spirits would no doubt not work for everyone but it appeals to my creative nature – and it’s fun!

Part of Satori’s feature is particularly relevant:-

 Modern group structures, like nations, corporations and websites, have their own egregores. They are invented thoughtforms, like conscious morphic fields, that are repeatedly invested in and invoked by the members of a group. Often the symbolism of that group is spread to others, and this strengthens the egregore as more people encounter it, develop awareness of recognition of it, and may eventually join the group and reinforce the egregore themselves.

 Corporations are very big on “branding”, getting their logos out there and increasing public awareness of their company or products. This is even the case when a corporation like McDonalds is already widely-known, and they hardly expect anyone to suddenly discover them through their advertising. The marketing explanation seems to be that reinforcing the brand image in the minds of consumers as a dominant, almost omnipresent force, increases the likelihood that they will buy from that company in the future through familiarity alone. The metaphysical explanation is that companies, whether they know it or not, are promoting their corporate egregore by putting its identifying sigils and symbols out where a lot of people will encounter them. They also use product placement in television shows and movies to accomplish the same purpose, and the metaphysical explanation for them is the same. Nations have flags, songs and customs, social scenes have their own music, clothing style, “look” and trends, and even churches have their own ritualism. All of these feed into an egregore, like a magickal group ritual repeated many times.

The use of new, specially created sigils to “jam the signal” is an ambitious task.

We must all do what we can to make it happen!

They have created two magical symbols to achieve this and need our help to get the process working by disseminating them as widely as possible.

“We need people to turn away from the junk food that is killing them.  That is the purpose of the first (red and yellow) sigil – REJECT JUNK FOOD!  But then they also need to espouse a healthy lifestyle and that is where the second sigil CHOOSE HEALTHY FOOD AND EXERCISE comes into play.  They are designed to work on the mind of anyone who looks at them.”

These sigils have been energised by the magicians and all that is needed is for them to be put in public places where as many people as possible will see them and they will quietly do their work.  They can be chalked on walls and pavements.  They can be inked or printed onto labels then stuck on lamp posts, windows, doors etc. and will be especially effective if that is on the approach to a fast food outlet.

And with global media at our disposal the possibilities of networking this are massive.

They can be used singly if that is more practical, but will be more effective if displayed as a pair.  They could even be accompanied by an appropriate slogan to further draw attention to them.

This is, of course, a direct challenge to the egregores of the fast food corporations so there could be interesting times ahead!

“We are not so much setting out to directly destroy these egregores but overwhelm them with a more powerful egregore.  If they are destroyed in the process then all well and good but it’s more a question of “jamming the signal ” with an equally beguiling signal that offers the road to a healthy life.”

Hopefully, like me, you will be able to support this ambitious initiative by displaying the sigils where you can and by passing this on to other receptive people.

The body is a temple so why bung it full of crap!

The idea was that people would feel uneasy about the place and ultimately experience phenomena we would associate with a haunting ie:-

A glimpse of something that can’t be explained …

A sudden drop in temperature perhaps …

A feeling of being observed …

Strange noises…

Etc …

Of course, once the area gained any sort of reputation for strange goings on then this would feed into the process.  Indeed, sowing the seed in the local community would be a good ploy in this regard.

There’s no record of how this particular project panned out and I so would be very interested to hear from anyone who has experience or knowledge of this.

From my own experience, I have an “Allotment Guardian”, a troll creature that patrols my vegetable plots.  It is a servitor operating under very strict conditions which don’t include feeding on trespassers though I was sorely tempted.  Please check out my January posts (Allotment Guardian 1-4 and Gotch’s territory) on this.  But wouldn’t it be fantastic if people started seeing a spectral figure on my plot…WOW!

It’s also worth checking out the Phillips Experiment, by the way.  This occurred in Canada in the 1970s and involved a group of scientists attempting to create a ghost…

Trouble is things have stubbornly refused to budge!

So I have re-examined my relationship with this entity.

This was an established servitor which others had apparently used to good effect.  I had reproduced the sigil, charged it in a ceremony in which I visualised its form and asked for its help in getting the project moving.

Maybe I am at odds with the timescale Skavan (and greater forces) have in mind for this thing I am trying to achieve. Maybe I am lusting unduly for the result.

A niggling doubt has been playing on my mind however.  Had I welshed on the deal?  It had been my intention to make an offering of tobacco (Skavan is very partial to tobacco) but had gotten distracted from this.  Maybe this was the dynamic that was missing…

I realised this would have to be more than just buying a cigar from a local shop.  My offering would have to involve more than this to have the right “poke”.

I recalled there was a specialist tobacco shop in our town.  Being a staunch non/anti smoker this would be like walking into the lair of the enemy – not a comfortable experience…

So earlier today I braved entering this little shop.  An old-fashioned bell tinkling heralded my tentative entry into a narrow walkway between shelves bearing rows of jars, tins, boxes full of all manner of exotic tobacco.  Packets and tins of snuff too  and I swear the premises had probably remained largely unchanged in over a hundred years.

I was overwhelmed by the sheer assortment of tobacco; somehow managed to resist the temptation of buying “Old Shag” (this was a serious quest after all!) and eventually chose an aromatic blend.  I emerged into the street furtively stashing away the packet of tobacco, hoping no one I knew had observed me.

I have now just returned from the garden where I set fire to a lump of the tobacco by Skavan’s sigil, offering it to him as I visualised him and asked for his help.  I will now leave whatever remains to be fed on by him overnight.

As I see it, you have to do your bit to make the magic work.  It remains to be seen whether my offering has been accepted…

Like any man whose partner falls prey to this nightmarish thing (or any other illness, for that matter), it is difficult not to feel totally helpless in the face of it.  You do your best to be supportive but all you want to do is make it go away.  It makes you feel so inadequate.

But people like us have something else – our magic – and whilst we can’t measure what difference it makes, at least we can try to make a difference – and that counts for a lot!

My magical friends have contributed much and I am indebted to Shen Hart for the following sigil to help with my wife’s bad sleeping that has been draining her of energy

This sigil is intended to draw energy from my Energy Store House Entity to form a barrieraround the inhabitants of the bedroom to keep away bad energies and nightmares and allow productive and restful sleep.

I charged this yesterday and my lady did get a better night’s sleep!

Shen also sent me this sigil which I drew in two places on my wife’s body as she went early to bed.  As I drew the sigil I visualised the ESHE powering the sigil to draw out the negative energy etc and eject it.

My wife and I are thankful to Shen for them.

I have just come back from a spell of digging on my allotment.  I acknowledged the presence of the troll servitor that has been guarding my adjoining allotment plots for some time (see Allotment Guardian posts in January 2012) in the usual way.  Whilst I was thanking him for what he does he lumbered up to me, put his massive arm over my shoulders and said “Don’t worry, mate!”

It happened on Friday too!

Fanciful thinking or a spirit tapping into my stuff?

Who knows but it made me feel a bit better!
